Iowa City Puts Hold On New Vape And Tobacco Licenses

(Iowa City, IA) -- Iowa City is pumping the brakes on issuing new tobacco licenses.

At month's end, businesses wanting a permit to sell vape or nicotine products in Iowa City will have to wait until at least the new year. Even then, Iowa City may look to cap the number of licenses issued, and distance outlets from schools.

Many existing vape and tobacco businesses support the moratorium on new licenses. They say the market is over-saturated.
